Love is a fickle player
In the lives of those he visits.
He comes and goes at his own whim,
And just laughs whenever he messes up.

Luck is a beautiful entity,
Who helps whenever she can.
She also comes and goes at whim,
But cries when she cannot be around.

One day, Love met Luck.
They had a wonderful time,
Partying and dancing all night,
Until the morning came, with Dawn.

Love, seeing Dawn's beauty,
Turned away from Luck's dark eyes.
Staring into the brilliant sunrise, however,
He burned his own to the point where he saw naught.

Love, no longer seeing,
Could not find his way to Luck,
And so, to this day, he wanders,
Reminding us all that he is blind.

    <lj:music>Classical... lots of classical.</lj:music>

I came to a new fully-thought-out realization last night, and felt like sharing it.

As most everyone already knows, the eyes are the single most expressive part of our body when it comes to sharing emotions. I mean, with no other part of our body can we smile, frown, show confusion, or even express a deep connection. True, our mouths can speak and move in many of these ways, but our eyes take so little work, yet can betray so much of what is inside us.

I think from now on, my goal is going to be to talk less and look and listen more. After all, I am naturally a very talkative guy, but it's something that I've been trying for years to get under control. If I can just shut my mouth and listen to what others have to say, I would probably be considered a better person overall. Also, if I can watch the eyes of the people with whom I communicate, perhaps I can learn exactly what expressions mean what, consciously rather than only subconsciously. Then, I will be able to express my feelings wordlessly, a goal I've had for a while.

Honestly, I also now know what it means to get lost in someone's eyes. They are just so deep, it's almost like falling in and not being able to pull yourself out. This may sound like a bad feeling to some of those of you who have yet to truly experience this feeling, but believe me, it's delightful. The worst part is when something makes a noise and pulls you back out against your will.

Well, I hope these realizations bring some insight into who I am and how I think, but I need to go try and meditate. Just another step in making myself a better person. I'll let you know how the meditation is later.

Peace.

~Jax
